“This dude Loves to eat ” I've never watch a twitch session without seeing Josh Chowing down on some food, have you?
You’ll be surprise to know how much I've seen and learn from just watching him work. He doesn't think hard about the moves he makes while mixing he just instinctively moves, shape and adjust.
what I've come to realize is that before a session on twitch lots of behind the scene gain staging and prep was done, He has his Parallel Busses set, and all his effects set, you will rarely see those areas of his session in his live sessions but nevertheless there are a lot of information to be had. The sauce of his Mixing has greatly to do with his years of experience and how he sets up his #parallel busses and #effects #busses.
How does #JoshGudwin Route His Sessions
Total Control is the order of the day with Josh. His #mixing #template Has taken everything into consideration and easily scalable. I took it upon my self to recreate #joshgudwinmixingtemplate and we will dive into all my findings.

Now I will be diving into the internal routing of his pro tools session..
Josh has bus setup for all the individual aspect of a song.
he has his vocal busses.
leadvocal (LD1) - adlibs (ld adlibs) - background (bg1) - VOCAL CHOPS (vox chops) - THROWS
he has his instrument busses
KICK - CLAP - PERCUSSION - TRANSITION -BASS GTR - 8O8s - SYNTH - GTR - and is scalable to accommodate other types of instrument as called for.
All his busses is then branched off into main busses as stated bellow:
his KICK - CLAP - PERCUSSION - TRANSITION is all routed to a ALL DRUM BUS which is sent to a DRUM MASTER then routed outboard then back into #protools to INSTRUMENT BUSS then into a PRE MIX BUS then to a MIX BUS then sent to a PRINT BUS..
his BASS GTR - 8O8s are routed to a ALL BASS BUS which is sent to a BASS MASTER then routed outboard then back into #protools into a INSTRUMENT BUSS then into a PRE MIX BUS then to a MIX BUS then sent to a PRINT BUS..
Same for all instrument except the Vocals.

As it relates to his EFFECTS SENDS & RETURNS along with his PARALLEL BUSSES those are kept confidential. however I can say this much HE HAS OVER 20 FX BUSSES in his session and over 7 PARALLEL BUSS -

STAY IN THE KNOW - its great to start from the the beginning and master the basics and gradually improve with time but it is even better to see a Grammy winning mixing engineer template and learn to break it down and reconstruct it all will.
